Survival of the adaptable
Thriving amidst change
I was recently reading about the Golden Cheeked Warbler, a bird who will only build its nests in Ashe juniper trees. Because of various environmental issues, there are fewer and fewer of these trees standing in Texas (where the birds go to breed.) The worry, of course, is that the bird will go extinct.

I am a bird lover and watcher and I feel very sad about this story. But, I will also admit that a part of me thinks, "Hey, quit being so darn rigid and find another tree!"

Adaptability is a trait that is highly linked to survival. One reason human beings survived when dinosaurs and others did not is that we could adapt to climate changes. When the ice age came, we moved south...or at least some of us did. I am pretty sure there were a few of us who thought, "I can't move. I just got the cave decorated exactly how I want it."

For the most part, though, humans have learned to survive in almost every condition, everywhere on earth. (along with rats and cockroaches.)

Now, we are standing on the brink of another great change. I don't know what historians will call this new "age" but I do know that those who will survive and thrive will be the ones who can adapt to the new conditions.

It is a good time to think about new ways to live life and to think of how you can thrive with the changes. I have had countless people tell me that (for various good reasons) they simply can NOT move from their current house, for example, even though they can no longer afford to live there. Rather like the lovely Warbler, they have become so used to a certain way of life that they cannot even picture anything else.

I have great sympathy for this and many other plights so many of us are experiencing right now. But, there is also a part of me that thinks, "Hey, Let's all quit being so rigid and join the evolutionary leap we are making."

September is a good month to ponder what things you feel you can't give up...and why. What are you clinging to that no longer works in your life? Then, before you are forced to do so, think about how you could adapt with joy to a change in that regard.

A gathering of like minds

The intuitive forum is open to anyone searching for a safe and nurturing place to discuss and learn metaphysical, spiritual and personal growth topics. There will also be a table where cards, brochures, etc. can be placed so that we can create a community of like minded individuals. The cost is $20 per person and no registration is necessary. It is at the United Church of Christ in Maple Grove, MN.

Our speaker for August 13th is Paulie Skaja Bell who will discuss your "Journey of possibilities". Join me in a mystical trip to Peru

It has been a few years since I have led a mystical journey but Peru keeps calling me home. For this journey I have chosen my favorite sites and places and given us lots of time to savor them. Plus, in a wonderfully serendipitous way, we will be able to celebrate my two favorite holidays, Beltane (May day) and my birthday (May 4th) while we are there. (What better way to turn 60 than in Machu Picchu?)

My co-leader, Terese Farr, and I will be along to provide support and to hold the energy for your transformative experience. I will channel the spirits of Peru (and the Light Collective) once during the trip and Terese (a gifted psychic in her own right) will hold a message circle so that you can ask personal questions. We will also have a local, English speaking guide with us the entire time. He is also an energy healer who has studied extensively in anthropology.

This class is designed for people who have honed their basic intuitive skills but wish to work on advanced skills such as mediumship, spirit guide communication and channeling and remote viewing. It will also address issues of doing business as an intuitive, including how to offer services, what to charge, how to become known and other information.

Intuitive Mastery Circles have started and are open to all.
Facilitated through out the Midwest by trained Intuitive Masters and with direction by Kathryn.

Through the Intuitive Mastery program, I have taught hundreds of people to use their intuitive skills as a part of their day to day life. One of the most important parts to using and developing these skills, though, is practice. You can take a weekend class or a series of classes and develop and learn many things, but, to make it truly a part of your life, you need ongoing practice and support.

As some of you remember, I had a monthly ongoing practice group for many years. Unfortunately, I no longer have the time to run this group. Luckily I have many skilled and talented former students who are true Intuitive Masters. Some of them have stepped forward and offered to facilitate Mastery circles under my direction.

These circles will be facilitated by trained graduates of my Intuitive Mastery group. They are held at various locations around the Twin Cities so that you can find a time and place that is convenient for you.

All circles are run under my supervision, with the facilitator being trained and given suggestions for various topics and exercises. The facilitator, is, of course, able to add her or his personal expertise.

The general format will be a time of "checking in" and meeting, followed by an intuitive practice exercise and then a time of recapping and discussion.

The cost of the circles is $20 per session and is payable to the facilitator.

The intuitive Mastery circles are open to anyone who wishes to further develop and practice their intuitive skills.
