Learning to balance
Lessons from travel
As most of you know, I love nothing better than to wander the world. This year, I have been blessed with being able to take two trips so far...India in January and Mexico in February. The two trips were amazingly different. India is a frantic country. It is noisy, dirty, amazingly beautiful and very hectic. The beach in Mexico was just the opposite. It was quiet, serene, and peaceful. I needed both experiences.

Each day in India was packed to over full. We saw incredible sites, ran from one thing to the next and packed the day with all it could hold and then stuffed in a bit more. In Mexico, the day was almost empty. I sat a LOT, reading sometimes, sometimes just thinking, occasionally going long periods without even thinking. My biggest decision was where and when and what to eat. I read three books, none of which I can, two weeks later, remember.

Upon reflecting on these two experiences, I think they reflect the two sides of my life. Much of the time I live an India type of lifestyle. I run from one thing to another and one idea to the next. But, some days, I relish My Mexico beach type of life. I am lucky in that I can occasionally just sit...think...read...and wonder what I should eat.

I suppose, it all boils down to balance. Too much India and I think my brain might explode. Too much Mexico beach sitting and my brain would probably get moldy. Still, balance has never been easy for me. I tend to be rather intense, so whatever I do, I do with gusto. Then, sometimes, I need to collapse.

This month, I am pondering balance. Thomas Merton once said, "Happiness is not a matter of intensity, but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony." I think he was right. Although I also agree with Einstein, who said: "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving."


Keep moving my friends. I hope our journeys coincide someday soon.

The Intuitive Forum
A gathering of like minds

The intuitive forum is open to anyone searching for a safe and nurturing place to discuss and learn metaphysical, spiritual and personal growth topics. There will also be a table where cards, brochures, etc. can be placed so that we can create a community of like minded individuals. The cost is $20 per person and no registration is necessary. It is at the United Church of Christ in Maple Grove, MN.

Our topic for that evening is "Enter the world of an energy healing professional" by Shelli Nelson. Shelli Kae Nelson is the founder of Rukha (SM) Academy of healing Arts and Science. She will describe key components to quantum energy healing as a profession. She will share the Rukha method of healing and how this licensed private academy can help you in attaining this exciting career, or how the curriculum will amplify your existing practice.

Shelli has been in the healing arts since 1985. She is a Registered Nurse and advanced studies graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing Science. After teaching healing and living with consciousness principles for personal transformation for five years, she will open Rukha Academy in September of this year.

As always, Kathryn and her guides the Light Collective will be on hand for the last hour. We will be taking questions from the audience who will receive channeled answers from the Light Collective.

Through the Intuitive Mastery program, I have taught hundreds of people to use their intuitive skills as a part of their day to day life. One of the most important parts to using and developing these skills, though, is practice. You can take a weekend class or a series of classes and develop and learn many things, but, to make it truly a part of your life, you need ongoing practice and support.

As some of you remember, I had a monthly ongoing practice group for many years. Unfortunately, I no longer have the time to run this group. Luckily I have many skilled and talented former students who are true Intuitive Masters. Some of them have stepped forward and offered to facilitate Mastery circles under my direction.

These circles will be facilitated by trained graduates of my Intuitive Mastery group. They are held at various locations around the Twin Cities so that you can find a time and place that is convenient for you.

All circles are run under my supervision, with the facilitator being trained and given suggestions for various topics and exercises. The facilitator, is, of course, able to add her or his personal expertise.

The general format will be a time of "checking in" and meeting, followed by an intuitive practice exercise and then a time of recapping and discussion.

The cost of the circles is $20 per session and is payable to the facilitator.

The intuitive Mastery circles are open to anyone who wishes to further develop and practice their intuitive skills. It is recommended, but not necessary, to have taken my Beginning Intuitive Mastery class.
