My mother passed away in May 2004. I've often wondered if she sees us all left here on Earth, or if she sees only when we speak to her?

Your mother is able to "see" all of you whenever she wishes. Usually, Spirits are very curious and anxious to see how their loved ones are doing and so, especially in the next few years after they die, they check in quite often. They also hear when you speak to them, either by thought or aloud. But, do remember they have exciting and vital lives in Spirit and so are not simply watching us (how boring would that be?) And, they are respectful of not violating privacy. They do love to come to weddings and holidays and love to see their loved ones having a grand time. They hate to see us sad. In other words...rather like they were when on earth.

What happens to people who commit suicide?

Exactly what happens to people who die of other causes. The only difference is that they may need additional or longer emotional healing in spirit. And, since all souls go through a life review process, they will re-live the impact of their suicide on their loved ones. That can be a very painful process for them but they have the support of the angels and their friends in spirit during that time.

If someone in life did not believe in talking to those on the other side, and they died. Would they probably not come through in a reading because of
their skepticism in life?
I have had many spirits come through who have been unbelieving or skeptical in their lifetimes. They often laugh about it...sometimes saying things like "I would never have approved of this when I was in body." They often come through for that very purpose, as if to say to their loved ones "I didn't understand until now." So, the likelihood of a skeptical loved one coming through is the same as any other loved one. The thing always to remember is that spirits have
rich and vital lives and can sometimes be busy or unable to make contact. It truly is up to them.

What happens to souls who miscarry?
Spirits who have come through to me who have miscarried all say the same thing. They tell me they loved the mother so much that they came in "as a kiss", like a little hello to a dear friend. But, they say, it was not their time to stay on earth..thus the miscarriage.

Because of this deep love, they often spend a great deal of time around the family, and I am sure they are watching over and spending time with you and your family.

I am an animal advocate and have a sanctuary for needy pets. I am still grieving over the loss of our dog, Calvin in 2003 and several others through the years. The feelings can be very overwhelming at times and I
know others share this with me about their pets too. Maybe you can help. What happens to the animals?
Animals have souls (spirits) just as all beings do. In some ways, their
souls are "purer" or at least less complex. So, when they die, they do not have as much emotional garbage (karma) to process as people have. People spend quite a bit of time in life review and also meeting past loved ones etc. Animals do not do that.

Most animals reincarnate (return to another body) in just a few years.
Dogs come back as dogs, cats as cats and so on. Often they return to the same human companion.

How do Spirits appear?
In regard to what they look like, again, it is up to them. Movies to the
contrary, I have never seen a spirit come through bloody or sick or injured. Who would chose to look that way? Some of them come through younger than they were when they died. Others chose to look as they did when they died so that I can described them in detail. Still others only come through as whisps of vapor to my mind's eye. I have been told they can chose whatever form they desire.
(personally, I plan to be young and skinny)

What about Spirits who don't pass on?
What happens to a spirit that doesn't want to go to the other side? In other words, they roam in the house by opening a door, and sitting on a bed?


It is fairly rare for a spirit NOT to go to the other side, Ghost Whisperer to the contrary. Spirits do come to visit fairly often though, so what you are experiencing might be a friendly spirit trying to get your own attention. "Hauntings" are usually not really spirits. They are actually a "loop" of energy left behind due to strong emotions. Often times this loop is not even caused by a person who is passed. It can be caused by any strong emotional reaction that stays in the house or building long after the person who generated that emotion has left.
