Mystical Journey to Peru

It has been a few years since I have led a mystical journey but Peru keeps calling me home. For this journey I have chosen my favorite sites and places and given us lots of time to savor them. Plus, in a wonderfully serendipitous way, we will be able to celebrate my two favorite holidays, Beltane (May day) and my birthday (May 4th) while we are there. (What better way to turn 60 than in Machu Picchu?)
My co-leader, Terese Farr, and I will be along to provide support and to hold the energy for your transformative experience. I will channel the spirits of Peru (and the Light Collective) once during the trip and Terese (a gifted psychic in her own right) will hold a message circle so that you can ask personal questions. We will also have a local, English speaking guide with us the entire time. He is also an energy healer who has studied extensively in anthropology.
Peru is a place that calls to the heart of those who are ready for a spiritual awakening. It is said that a journey to Peru is a journey to find yourself. This custom, small group tour will focus on the inner power within each person as we spend time at ancient temples, sacred sites and the crystal city in the clouds, Machu Picchu. Travel and share the journey with like-minded people who are on a personal and spiritual quest. Tour leaders, Kathryn Harwig and Terese Farr and local Peruvian guide, Romulo Castilla, will share unique sites and special ceremonies as they introduce you to the magic of Peru. In this mystical land deep inner knowledge awakens as you are surrounded by the soft beautiful energy of the Apus, spirits of the Andes mountains, valleys, rivers, ancient energetic sites, and the gentle hearts of the Peruvian people. This beautiful land is steeped in magic and mystery, and in Machu Picchu you can hear the voices of the ancient ones in the wind.

April 28, 2011. Thursday Miami-Lima
Our journey to the mystical land of Peru begins in Miami by boarding our late night non-stop international flight.
April 29 Friday. Cuzco / Sacred Valley. L, D.
Early morning arrival in Lima, connect with our flight to Cuzco, capital of the Incan Empire located high in the Andes Mountains. We will be met by our Peruvian guide then board our private bus for a scenic drive to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This will be a slow and relaxing day giving us time to acclimate to the higher altitude and adjust to our Andean Mountain surroundings
April 30, Saturday Sacred Valley. B, L, D Ollantaytambo
This morning we will explore the original Incan town of Ollantaytambo (City of Dawn) with its stone streets and original aqueducts. We will visit the main altars and temples dedicated to the power animals of the Andean world. Discover the natural stone Temple of the Kondor and perhaps the Apus (mountain spirits) will bless us with a visit from the Queros, (elder healers from the high Andes) sharing a despacho ceremony. After we enjoy an early afternoon lunch at a local restaurant, we will return to our hotel where you will have some time to rest and relax or explore the hotel grounds before we meet for dinner. This evening under a blanket of stars, we will share a fire ceremony where the Quero´s will make the offering and burn the despacho.
May 1, Sunday B, L, D Chincero market and village / Moray
Early this morning we travel to the colorful market and ruins of Chinchero, This market offers a wonderful opportunity to buy woven goods, wall hangings, rugs, pottery, and many other types of handicrafts, as well as wonderful photographic opportunities. Observe the traditionally dressed campesinos coming to barter and sell their produce at the market. We´ll visit an artisan´s workshop where expert weavers demonstrate the process of dyeing alpaca, llama, sheave, etc. wool textiles using natural and organic vegetables and minerals as the Quechuas (Incas) did hundreds of years ago. We will also explore the ancient city of Chincero which was occupied by the Wari culture well before the Inca´s. Observe the remains of shrines and rock sculptures of puma´s and the wall with large trapezoidal niches big enough to stand up inside of them.
After lunch we visit Moray, just outside the small town of Maras. This is a mysterious, fabulous Inca site which is off the usual tourist trail. Circular concentric terracing, which at first glance looks like a huge amphitheatre, forms a huge bowl.Ê Stone stairs built into the terrace walls allow you to go down to the very bottom, central circle. From here the view is all encompassing, surrounded by the circular shapes moving upward and the blue sky above; this is a place to move back into the center of yourself.
May 2 Monday. Early train to Machu Picchu. B, L, D.
This morning we board the train for a 1 1/2 hour beautiful scenic ride along the sacred river to Machu Picchu. Arriving in Aguas Calientes we take the bus up the mountain to the Lost City in the Clouds. After lunch we explore the main power spots and temples of the Sacred Crystal City.
May 3 Tuesday. Machu Picchu. B, D.
For those early risers you may take the bus up to Machu Picchu for a sunrise ceremony with your guide before other tourists arrive. Begin the day by offering your blessings to the spirit of Pachamama. You may spend the day at leisure on your own in Macchu Picchu or do an optional hike to the Sun Gate, Huayna Picchu or Temple of the Moon.
May 4 Wednesday. Machu Picchu / Cuzco. B. (entrance ticket bus ticket not included today.)
We have the morning free. You may return to Machu Picchu to spend some private time and have lunch, or have a private sound ceremony with Herbert', a local shaman. Late afternoon train to Cuzco. Overnight in Cuzco.
May 5 Thursday. Cuzco. B, L.
Full day tour of the main Incan altars around Cuzco. Connect with the Uma or water element atTambo Machay balancing male and female, Puca Pucara, Qenqo where thePuma awakens, and the huge ceremonial center Sacsayhuaman, marked by the huge stone paw of the Puma. We will feel the energy and honor each of these sacred places. Moderate hiking required.
May 6 Friday. Cuzco. B, L,D.
Morning visit to the Temple of the Moon. Feel the power of this sacred cave as you
return to the womb, the beginning, a rebirth of your sacred self. Once inside, you feel humbled by the aura of this ancient sacred space, a transformation has already begun. We will have a closing ceremony to say Thank You to the Apus and Pachamama for this magical time in Peru. This is a time of heart opening and healing, as you feel yourself infused with love, you
remember who you are as a divine being of love and light. Lunch and return to Cusco,
late afternoon free to rest or explore Cuzco. Farewell group dinner.
May 7 Saturday. B. Morning flight Cuzco to Lima.
You will have a day room available at a nearby hotel to shower, rest and prepare for your late night flight from Lima back to Miami. For those interested, you will have the option of
going to a lovely outdoor shopping area for the afternoon with an ocean view. There are several restaurant choices for dinner. For those not going, you may have dinner at the hotel restaurant before departing for the airport.
May 8 Sunday. Early morning arrival in Miami, connect with your domestic flight to your home city.
Welcome Home from this mystical and magical sacred journey through Peru. The personal transformation that has been initiated during your time in this sacred land will not stop once you arrive home. The powerful energy of the Apus and the Pachamama will always be with you, supporting and moving you to deeper levels of your own inner wisdom. The Intuitive Forum
Next meeting is May 13, 2011
The intuitive forum is open to anyone searching for a safe and nurturing place to discuss and learn metaphysical, spiritual and personal growth topics. It is held at Pilgrim's United Church of Christ in Maple Grove, Minnesota (8801 Rice Lake RD) and costs $20 per person at the door. It meets once a month on Friday nights from 7 to 9 pm.
Our speakers on May 13th are breath worker Julie Delene and sound healer and Native American flutist Rev. Laura Davida Preves. They will present the Joy of Life experience and invite you to embody your joy with intentional use of breath, sound, chant, and movement. Julie and Laura will guide you using a myriad of vibrational activities to heal and unify yourself, gain clarity, increase vibration and vitality, and evolve spiritual understanding.
